Download festival 2014. I was looking forward to this for so long. We’ve had past experience, there were more people coming and the three headliners did not disappoint. But how was the weekend as a whole?

Greetings mortals, I am DracoJames102 and I’m here to give you a review.

Like most people throughout their childhood, I grew up with a lot of Disney movies. In fact, my family worked on collecting every single one of their animated movies on the original VHS tapes. I really enjoyed a majority of their movies and even today I still enjoy most of the movies they have put out. The company does have its ups and downs, but almost no-one can deny the quality of their products when they are great. Disney has a huge roster of timeless characters and what better way of flashing them out in the gaming industry than with a video game where you can control all of them? This is my review of ‘Disney Infinity’.

With the popularity of the Skylanders video games, it isn’t that surprising that Disney would want to try the same thing with their library of characters. Admittedly I was pretty skeptic about buying the game at first but in Christmas 2013, my little sister gave me the game as a present and I was curious to try it out. Now for this review, I am going to be taking a look at the game’s starter pack which comes with a copy of the game, a play mat, a power pad which contains Mickey’s car, a play piece where you can explore three of the Disney worlds, a play mat to put your characters on and the character figurines that you get with it, which are Mr. Incredible from The Incredibles, Sulley from Monsters University and Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. Is this game worth adding to a Disney fan’s collection and will it satisfy a casual gamer? Let’s dive right in.

Greetings mortals, I am DracoJames102 and I am here to give you a review.

Sorry I have been out of commission for a while. University work has really been getting in the way lately as well as a bunch of other stuff, but who cares. It’s time for my twentieth review spectacular. Seeing how I reviewed something I absolutely hated for my tenth review, I am going to review something I absolutely love for this review. This is my review of ‘Batman Arkham City’.

Batman Arkham City Title Card

‘Batman Arkham Asylum’ was a massively successful game in 2009. If you want my opinion on the game, check out my review of it on this site. Only a few months after the game was released, there were already leaks on the internet which implied that a sequel was coming out in 2011. Needless to say, people were exited for it. After playing ‘Batman Arkham Asylum’ myself a couple of months before ‘Batman Arkham City’, I was getting exited along with everybody else. It is 2014 now which makes the game nearly three years old. Does ‘Batman Arkham City’ still hold up? Did it manage to improve upon what already made ‘Batman Arkham Asylum’ so great? The answer is obvious at this point but let’s dive right in anyway. Before we do, I’d like to point out that I am reviewing the PS3 version and I have no experience with the Wii U Armoured Edition.

Before the big-un that is Download festival I decided to go to a smaller gig at the Flapper and Firkin in Birmingham. There I saw the band Layers supporting Freeze the Atlantic. Who is this ‘Layers’ you may ask? Well the band’s guitarist James Thompson is actually my guitar teacher. So when he informed me they were playing in Brum I thought I’d go check his band out, see if I was really learning from a professional.
